Strategic Brand Design that drives business growth
Strategy First. Design Second. Results Always.
Are you starting a business and wondering where to even begin with your logo?
Or perhaps you’ve already started your business but quickly asked a friend of a friend to design your logo, or maybe you used AI to create your brand because it was fast and free. But now you’ve noticed your competitors attracting the very customers you want to reach.
That’s because successful brand design is built on strategy, not just visuals.
A logo might look “nice” to you, but without strategic thinking behind it, it becomes little more than decoration. Of course, branding should absolutely be visually appealing, but every visual decision should be intentional and aligned with your business foundations: your purpose, mission, vision and values.
For example, a high-end luxury hair salon wouldn’t attract its ideal clientele with a loud, colourful, playful identity. That type of branding would be far more suited to a children’s soft play centre. Strategic brand design ensures your business looks, feels and communicates in a way that resonates with the people you actually want to attract.
A strong brand doesn’t just help you look professional – it helps customers trust you, remember you and choose you over competitors.
Why brand design is more than just a logo?
Yes, a logo is part of your brand design, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle.
A strategic brand identity includes multiple variations of your logo optimised for different applications and platforms, carefully paired typography for headings and body copy, a distinctive colour palette designed to evoke specific emotions, and imagery and messaging tailored to your target audience. Depending on your business, your brand identity may also extend across packaging, social media, illustrations, signage, printed materials, website design and more.
Ultimately, brand design is the complete visual identity of your business. It’s how your audience instantly recognises and remembers you through consistency, clarity and emotional connection.
In fact, a strong brand identity should be recognisable even without the logo present. Imagine seeing a poster, advertisement or social media graphic from your business without the logo attached. The colours, typography, imagery and overall style should still immediately feel recognisable as your brand.
That’s the power of strategic brand design. Your brand shouldn’t just look good, it should be unforgettable.

Whats the difference between asking AI to design your business logo and investing in a Brand Strategist Designer with years of experience? 🤔
It’s not just a more cohesive and effective logo… you get so much more than just a logo!
My clients are supplied with a full brand identity (more than one file!), strategically designed to create a consistent and memorable brand ✨

This was Paws on the Go original logo that they’d been using for a while. It was created by Canva/AI and looked very generic and similar to all the competitors…
I supplied Chat GPT with the business’ values, goals etc and this is what it created 🤔 Again, it’s very generic and doesn’t have any individuality to stand out against their competitors…
So, after a lot of work and strategy developments, this is what I created for Paws on the Go…
A primary and secondary logo ✨
Also a submark & logomark ✨
But there was still more that I supplied them with…
I didn’t just send a them one logo (or a couple of variations)... they received all of their logo variations, supplied in multiple file formats and colour versions.
And it didn’t stop there! As I also created illustrations, patterns and icons as supporting elements of the brand identity, these were all supplied too, also with the relevant variations and formats! ✨
And lastly, they also received a brand guidelines sheet, including all the information they need to confidently carry their new brand identity forward and keep everything consistent across everything they do! 👏🏻
For larger branding projects, I would create a 15+ page brand guidelines document for the client! Because a strong brand is so much more than just a logo. It’s a complete, cohesive visual identity and my clients leave with everything they need to confidently bring their brand to life ✨
Not just a basic AI-generated logo that looks like everyone else’s… but a brand that’s been thoughtfully created to feel unique, recognisable and completely theirs 🤍
Paws on the Go ~ New Branding Project ✨
As a friendly, trusted and professional pet care service, Paws on the Go needed a brand identity that felt just as unique as the business and importantly, stood out from the crowd of local competitors relying on AI-generated logos!
By taking the time to understand Edyth’s values, goals and target audience, we created a distinctive visual identity where strategy meets creativity 💭
The result is a clean, professional and bold brand, with a key emphasis on the word ‘Go’. The fluidity of the letter G creates a sense of movement, with a subtle arrow forming the crossbar to represent being on the go. This then flows seamlessly into a paw print, bringing in that playful, pet-focused element 🐾
A brand that feels professional and trustworthy, whilst still capturing the fun, energy and personality of the pets at the heart of the business 🤍
Where has the time gone?! 👀 Whoops, I got a little behind with posting on here (I’m blaming the hot weather ☀️), but behind the scenes I’ve still been keeping very busy!
I’ve been working on lots of lovely projects, as well as finally giving my own website a much needed update. A lot of these jobs I can’t physically share on here, so instead I thought it was about time I showed you a little glimpse of what I’ve actually been up to lately…
And now that I’m finally catching up, I’ll hopefully be a little more present on here and posting more soon! ✨
Is there anything more fulfilling than celebrating the wedding of one of your oldest school friends and seeing all the wedding stationery you designed come to life? 🤍
From the save the dates and invites to the finishing touches on the day, it was such a privilege to create something so personal & watching everyone enjoy the details on the day made it all the more rewarding 🫶🏻
I’m so excited to be designing a few more beautiful wedding stationery suites this year, and my diary is open for 2027 and beyond. If you’re planning your wedding over the next couple of years, I’d love to help bring your vision to life. Get in touch for a free quote✨
✨ It’s National Freelancers Week ✨
Sometimes being self-employed looks like the best thing in the world… and in many ways it is. But freelancing definitely comes with its fair share of pros and cons.
One thing I think is worth reminding clients is that a quote covers much more than just the time spent creating a design. It also helps pay for software, equipment, training, insurance, admin, accounting, tax returns and all the other costs that come with running a business.
There are lots of challenges behind the scenes, but there are plenty of rewards too… the main one being that I get cuddles with my dog throughout the day 🐶❤️

Not every creative project happens on a screen 🐆
Took a break from designing for clients and turned our cloakroom into a full on Safari escape instead. A little crazy? Maybe. Worth it? Absolutely 🤩
I think stepping away from the computer sometimes is the best thing for creativity, a different medium but same creative brain ✨

A throwback to one of my favourite brand strategy projects for NeuroThrive ✨
This project perfectly captures why brand strategy is the foundation of meaningful design. It’s never just about creating a “nice” logo, it’s about building a business with purpose.
NeuroThrive is rooted in a deeply personal mission: to champion and empower neurodiverse individuals in the workplace through HR support and coaching. That clarity of purpose shaped every design decision.
From an accessible colour palette, to distinct colours representing each business pillar, to four bespoke symbols carrying their own meaning. Paired with strong, highly legible typefaces, the result is a cohesive, eye-catching identity that truly serves its audience.
Design with depth always stands out 💭
