Creative thinking, thoughtful design & a genuine passion for your story.
Inspired by the everyday, shaped by your business vision & always looking for the little details that make the design feel genuinely yours.
The little things in life have always inspired me.
From the little note tucked inside an order from a small business, to the delicate changes of the seasons in the countryside, to the hand-crafted birthday cards (yes, I was that child)… I’ve always found joy in the details.
Because I believe it’s the little things that matter, the things that make you stop and feel something. And it’s this that inspires me to create branding that feels special, considered and uniquely yours.
It’s probably cliché to say I always knew I’d end up in a creative career. I was the child who was constantly crafting, drawing and painting, and the one in my Art classes at school who genuinely wanted to be there. That love of creativity naturally led me to study Graphic Design at College, University and later, a Master’s degree. Design and creativity have always been my calling.
Then came the 9-5 of design agencies. While I learnt an incredible amount from working alongside talented designers, I soon realised something was missing. I wanted to know the people behind the businesses I was designing for; their stories, ideas, quirks, hopes and all the little details that make them them.
Over time, I realised that the corporate side of design was taking away the part I loved most: the connection, the creativity and the feeling that what I was creating genuinely meant something to someone. A few redundancies and a little uncertainty about where I was heading later, I decided it was time to create something of my own.
And so, Sara Design Co. came to life.

Today, I get to work directly with the people behind the businesses I design for; to listen, understand, get excited about their ideas, and turn what makes their business special into a brand that feels entirely their own.
And it’s not just the creative side of design that excites me. I love the strategy behind it too, understanding why a certain colour evokes a particular feeling, or why one typeface might connect with an audience more than another.
There’s also a freedom that comes with running my own business that I really value. When I find myself in a creative rut, I’ve learnt not to force it. The little things that inspire me are often right outside the door: a walk surrounded by nature and wildlife, a quiet coffee shop, photography, cooking something nutritious, gardening and growing things from seed, or simply getting lost in a good book. When time allows, I love travelling – the Amazon, Madagascar and South Africa are some of the craziest places I’ve been, but I also love nothing more than being in Spain and eating tapas.
Or, more often than not, our wonderful rescue dog Cooper (and sometimes my Mum’s Border Collie, Flo) will be begging for attention and leaning against my laptop to distract me! Because inspiration doesn’t always come from sitting at a desk staring at a blank screen. Sometimes, you just need to step away.
That said, I’m a big believer in having a solid process behind the creativity. I pride myself on being meticulously organised, keeping communication clear and consistent, and making sure you always know where your project is up to.
Good things happen together
Over the years, I’ve built a wonderful community of talented freelancers who I can bring into a project when their expertise can make it even stronger. From photographers and printers to social media strategists and copywriters, I love collaborating with people who share the same care and passion for what they do.
Sometimes, the best projects are the ones where we work together from the very beginning, making sure the visuals, words and strategy all work together and communicate your message clearly.
That’s one of the things that makes Sara Design Co. a little different. Whether you’re launching a new business or reshaping an existing one, we can help bring the right people together to support you from start to finish.
And when the project is finished? We’ll still be there, cheering your business on from the sidelines.

✨ It’s National Freelancers Week ✨
Sometimes being self-employed looks like the best thing in the world… and in many ways it is. But freelancing definitely comes with its fair share of pros and cons.
One thing I think is worth reminding clients is that a quote covers much more than just the time spent creating a design. It also helps pay for software, equipment, training, insurance, admin, accounting, tax returns and all the other costs that come with running a business.
There are lots of challenges behind the scenes, but there are plenty of rewards too… the main one being that I get cuddles with my dog throughout the day 🐶❤️

Not every creative project happens on a screen 🐆
Took a break from designing for clients and turned our cloakroom into a full on Safari escape instead. A little crazy? Maybe. Worth it? Absolutely 🤩
I think stepping away from the computer sometimes is the best thing for creativity, a different medium but same creative brain ✨

A throwback to one of my favourite brand strategy projects for NeuroThrive ✨
This project perfectly captures why brand strategy is the foundation of meaningful design. It’s never just about creating a “nice” logo, it’s about building a business with purpose.
NeuroThrive is rooted in a deeply personal mission: to champion and empower neurodiverse individuals in the workplace through HR support and coaching. That clarity of purpose shaped every design decision.
From an accessible colour palette, to distinct colours representing each business pillar, to four bespoke symbols carrying their own meaning. Paired with strong, highly legible typefaces, the result is a cohesive, eye-catching identity that truly serves its audience.
Design with depth always stands out 💭
Looking back at the first quarter of 2026… how are we already in Q2?! 💫
I really leant into the New Year energy - taking time to switch off, reset, realign my goals and get clearer on where I want Sara Design Co. to go this year!
Now that April’s here (new quarter + new tax year), it feels like the right time to move forward with more clarity… even if we’re still figuring things out.
What are your goals for Q2? 🤔
Moodboards ~ where every branding journey begins 💫
No two are ever the same, each one is thoughtfully crafted around your brand’s strategy, audience, purpose and personality. They’re more than just inspiration; they tell your story before a single design is created.
They set the tone, guide the vision and shape everything that follows in the branding process. That’s why it’s so important that you truly connect with it, because the right direction here sets the foundation for everything that comes next.
Once your chosen direction is approved, we move into the exciting stage… bringing your brand concepts to life ✨

We’re already working on some exciting new designs for weddings this year! If you still need signage for your Summer wedding, invites for your Autumn/Winter celebration or you’re already planning ahead for 2027…
Get in touch today, we’d love to bring your vision to life ✨
Not all great design starts at a desk.
Sometimes, it finds you in the middle of nowhere… even in the Amazon 🌿 @nomadlodges
Slowing down creates space for better ideas.

As it was International Women’s Day yesterday, it feels like the perfect moment for a throwback to some branding I created for one of my oldest friends! Especially as she’s just relaunched her Instagram and is using the branding perfectly 👉 @aw.fitness.pt
Abbie helps women become stronger, fitter and more confident through effective strength training. It’s not about quick weight loss, it’s about feeling good in your body and building real strength.
There’s also hidden meaning in the logo. The obvious part is the ‘A’ lifting the weight, but the way the A and W connect also creates a heartbeat, representing the rhythm of exercise and the energy behind getting stronger 🏋️♀️
